The Definition of a Miniature

The definition for the Tasmanian Society is that the work should be a maximum of 100 sq. cm (10cm x 10cm) or smaller. Although the Society has not formally adopted the 1/6 scale rule, that is that the subject must be 1/6 of the size it is in nature. The "Spirit of Miniaturisation" must always be maintained including use and application of colour.

The Society prefers frames that do not exceed the outside measurements of 21cm x 26cm. Framing size may vary from exhibition to exhibition and exhibiting members are requested to read entry forms carefully before submitting works.
