Better Hearing Australia, (Tasmania) is a non-profit organisation,  that is mainly funded by the tax deductible donations of members of the general community.  This is supplemented by a small amount of government funding. It is dedicated to helping people with hearing problems.  In 2005 the organisation celebrates its sixtieth anniversary. 

Better Hearing Australia, (Tasmania) provides many unique services for the hearing impaired like hearing advisory service, referral assistance, information sessions, hearing loss management courses, assistive listening devices, advice on hearing aids, hearing aids for those in need, hearing help card, hearing help in hospitals, advocacy, lobbying.

Better Hearing  Australia, (Tasmania) provide a Tinnitus support group which is designed to help sufferers cope with Tinnitus, and to prevent Tinnitus and other hearing impairments from occurring. Encouragement and the setting up of treatment services for Tinnitus sufferers is also offered.

Better Hearing Australia, (Tasmania) also holds Communication classes, these classes cover speech reading, body language, coping strategies, speech conversation, listening tactics, hearing re-education, finger spelling and basic signing.
